3-hydroxy Heptadecanoic acid is a hydroxylated fatty acid. It is a component of LPS in several species of Gram-negative bacteria.1,2 Levels of 3-hydroxy heptadecanoic acid are decreased in the feces of patients with Crohn's disease.
