Insulin decreases blood glucose concentration. It increases cell permeability to monosaccharides, amino acids and fatty acids. It accelerates glycolysis, the pentose phosphate cycle, and glycogen synthesis in liver.
The Biological Activity was determined to be 28 units/mg.
Freeze dried insulin is recommended to be used within 6 months when stored at 2-8 ℃, and within 1 year when stored at -20 ℃. It is recommended to store the insulin solution after reconstitution at 2-8 ℃ and not freeze it. It should be used up within 1-2 months. If the insulin solution shows clumping, crystallization, or viscosity, it indicates that it has failed and is not recommended to continue using.
