Sample solution is provided at 25 µL, 10mM.
Ceramide is generated from sphingomyelin through activation of sphingomyelinases or through the de novo synthesis pathway, which requires the coordinated action of serine palmitoyl transferase and ceramide synthase. They have been shown to mediate antiproliferative responses such as apoptosis, growth arrest, differentiation, and senescence.1 This product contains ceramide molecular species with primarily C24:1 and C24:0 fatty acyl chains. As this product is derived from a natural source, there may be variations in the sphingoid backbone. [Matreya, LLC. Catalog No. 1322]
