Dabcyl-K-SARS-CoV-2 replicase polyprotein 1ab (pp1ab) (3235-3246)-E-EDANS is a fluorogenic substrate for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) and SARS-CoV-2 main protease (Mpro), also known as 3C-like protease (3CLpro).1,2 Upon enzymatic cleavage by SARS-CoV or SARS-CoV-2 Mpro at the Gln-Ser site, EDANS is separated from the Dabcyl quencher and its fluorescence can be used to quantify SARS-CoV or SARS-CoV-2 Mpro activity.1,2,3 EDANS displays excitation/emission maxima of 340/485 nm, respectively.
