(±)-10-hydroxy-12(Z),15(Z)-Octadecadienoic acid is an oxylipin. It is produced from α-linolenic acid by the gut bacteria L. plantarum.1 (±)-10-hydroxy-12(Z),15(Z)-Octadecadienoic acid prevents increases in mRNA expression of the gene encoding SREBP-1c by the liver X receptor (LXR) agonist T0901317 in HepG2 cells. It reduces LPS-induced increases in nitric oxide (NO) production in RAW 264.7 macrophages when used at a concentration of 10 µM.2
