Description of 3-Aminoisobutyric Acid (sodium salt)

3-Aminoisobutyric acid is a non-protein amino acid formed during thymine catabolism.1 It induces browning in primary adipocytes, increasing the expression of uncoupling protein 1 (UCP-1) and CIDEA when used at a concentration of 5 µM. It also increases the expression of PPARα in primary adipocytes and in mouse inguinal white adipose tissue (WAT) in vivo and increases β-oxidation in hepatocytes. Plasma levels of 3-aminoisobutyric acid are increased in mice following exercise and, when administered at a dose of 100 mg/kg per day, it decreases weight gain and body fat percentage without decreasing food intake or increasing energy expenditure, and improves glucose tolerance. Levels of 3-aminoisobutyric acid are elevated in the plasma, urine, and cerebrospinal fluid of patients with β-ureidopropionase deficiency, a disorder characterized by an inborn error of pyrimidine degradation.2

Working concentration: mg/ml;

Method for preparing DMSO master liquid: mg drug pre-dissolved in μL DMSO ( Master liquid concentration mg/mL, Please contact us first if the concentration exceeds the DMSO solubility of the batch of drug. )

Method for preparing in vivo formulation: Take μL DMSO master liquid, next addμL PEG300, mix and clarify, next addμL Tween 80, mix and clarify, next add μL ddH2O, mix and clarify.

Method for preparing in vivo formulation: Take μL DMSO master liquid, next add μL Corn oil, mix and clarify.

Note: 1. Please make sure the liquid is clear before adding the next solvent.
2. Be sure to add the solvent(s) in order. You must ensure that the solution obtained, in the previous addition, is a clear solution before proceeding to add the next solvent. Physical methods such as vortex, ultrasound or hot water bath can be used to aid dissolving.
