Harmalol hydrochloride, main metabolite of Harmaline, significantly inhibits the dioxin-mediated induction of CYP1A1 at the transcriptional and posttranslational levels. Harmalol hydrochloride possesses antioxidant and hydroxyl radical-scavenging properties[1].
