ビオチントリペプチド-1は、バイオチンに結合された細胞外マトリックス(ECM)ペプチドであり、皮膚および表皮細胞のコラーゲンIVおよびラミニンの産生を刺激します。ビオチントリペプチド-1は、単離培養された人間毛包の周囲毛包帯に局在し、角化細胞の増殖を誘導し、2 ppmおよび5 ppmの濃度で使用した場合に対照毛包と比較して58%および121%の髪の成長を促進します。また、単離培養された毛包内でコラーゲンIVおよびラミニン5バンドが減少することを防止します。
