Heptamethine cyanine dye-1 (ADS 815EI)は近赤外シアニン染料であり、その特徴は良い水溶性、低毒性、吸光/発光波長は約780/800nmである[1][2]。Heptamethine cyanine dye-1 (ADS 815EI)は長い三重項状態寿命、高い一重項酸素量子収率と低い暗毒性を持ち、細胞内細胞内局在におけるミトコンドリアに標的能力を示し、TPPなど、幾つかの化合物を共役することで、良い腫瘍標的と生物利用度を示した[3][4]。これらの特性により、Heptamethine cyanine dye-1 (ADS 815EI)は、組織のイメージング、光線力学療法と薬物送達システムに適するようになる[5-7]
