Description of 5-Azacytidine

5-Azacytidine (5-AzaC라고도 알려져 있음)은 사이토신 유사물의 일종으로 DNA 메틸트랜스퍼이즈(DNMT) 억제제로서 MM.1S, MM.1R, RPMI-8266, RPMI-LR5, RPMI-Dox40 및 환자 유래 MM세포에 강한 세포 독성을 발휘하는 컴파운드이다. 각각의 반최소 억제 농도 IC50 값은 1.5 μmol/L, 0.7 μmol/L, 1.1 μmol/L, 2.5 μmol/L, 3.2 μmol/L, 1.5 μmol/L 이다.

5-Azacytidine은 세포의 DNA 및/또는 RNA에 통합되며, 이어서 DNMT와 결합하여 5-아자사이토신의 C6와 DNMT의 반짝쇠산화 섬유아미드 사이에 공유결합을 형성하여 세포 내의 DNMT 활성 감소와 세포 DNA의 멜라민화를 유도한다[1].
