(-)-Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG)은 녹차의 주요 폴리페놀로 세포 증식을 억제하고 조사소를 유도한다. EGCG는 자유 기질 제거 특성을 가지고 있다[3]. EGCG는 신경 세포의 산화스트레스에 대한 항염색 및 항조사 효과를 가지고 있다[4]. 게다가 글루탐산 탈수소효소 1/2 (GDH1/2, GLUD1/2)의 활동을 억제한다[5].
(-)-Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG) (200 µM; 1시간)은 CoCl2 처리된 BV2 세포에서 인플레임마토리 싸이토킴 및 매개체의 표현 수준을 낮춘다[6]. EGCG는 miR-143/MAPK7 경로를 통해 3T3-L1 세포 성장을 억제한다[7].
(-)-Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) (5-30 mg/kg; 구강투여; 14일)는 종양(HT-29 대장암) 성장을 줄인다[8]. EGCG 치료(매일 50mg/kg)는 옥수수 기름에 녹여 복강 주사로 제7일부터 제11일까지 집 먼지 진드기(HDM) 도전 1시간 전에 투여하여 HIF-1α/VEGFA를 억제함으로써 마크로파지 M2 기울기를 조절하여 마우스의 천식 증상을 완화시킨다[9].
