UDP-글루코오스와 글루코오스 6-인산으로부터 TPS 또는 otsA (트레할로스 6-인산 합성효소)에 의해 생성됩니다. 식물에서, 트레 할 로 스 6 인 산 수준의 변화가 일일 변화하는 자당과 양의 상관 관계를 가짐으로써 전반적으로 다양한 프로세스를 규제 할 수 있으며, 이에는 전분 분해 및 개화 등이 포함됩니다.
