DSPE-PEG2000-WYRGRL is a PEG compound which composed of DSPE and a cartilage-targeting peptide (WYRGRL). WYRGRL is a collagen II -targeting peptide that can bind to collagen II α1. DSPE-PEG2000-WYRGRL can be used for drug delivery [1].
In Vitro, WYRGRL can specifically bind to Collagen II of articular cartilage[1]. WYRGRL exhibits cartilage-targeting activity[2]. The strategy of encapsulating Lecithin, Cholesterol, DSPE-PEG2000-WYRGRL, and Urolithin A into HAMA microspheres using microfluidic and photopolymerization techniques may alleviate cartilage degeneration by targeting chondrocytes and activating mitochondrial autophagy[2].
