18-Azido-stearic acid is a click chemistry reagent containing an azide group, which can be used as a hydrophobic bioconjugation linker (using N-Myristoyltransferase) that can be further modified at the azido-position using Click-chemistry [2]. 18-Azido-stearic acid can be used to prepare functionalized glycerol/diacid dendrimers for modifying and linking signaling peptides or controlling charge patterns, thereby enabling selective targeting of encapsulated drugs or delivery to specific biological sites [2].
