2,4,6-Tribromobenzene-1,3,5-triol is a halogenated phloroglucinol present in the red alga Rhabdonia verticillata. 2,4,6-Tribromobenzene-1,3,5-triol serves as a hydroxyl-containing aromatic building block for the preparation of porous aromatic frameworks [1] [2].
In Vitro, 2,4,6-Tribromobenzene-1,3,5-triol reacts with various alkyne-containing monomers at 100 °C for 48 h, and through non-covalent interactions on hydroxylated glass substrates, it produces continuous crack-free bulk sheets of PAF-80, PAF-81, PAF-82 and PAF-18 with high yields, and each sheet exhibits a distinct thickness[2].
