Bromo-PEG7-alcohol is a polyethylene glycol (PEG) linker consisting of a bromine group and a terminal hydroxyl group. The PEG linker escalates hydrophilicity. The bromide (Br) can serve as a leaving group in nucleophilic substitution reactions (e.g., amino, mercapto). The terminal hydroxyl group can serve as a site for further derivatization reactions, transforming into reactive functional groups such as azide, alkynyl, and reactive esters. Bromo-PEG7-alcohol is used to synthesize PROTACs, coupling molecules, probes, or other compounds with PEG spacer arms[1].
