H-His-Tyr-OH is a small dipeptide composed of histidine and tyrosine. H-His-Tyr-OH, a neurolysin activator, exhibited an A50 value of 85.5μM against neurolysin. The half-lives of H-His-Tyr-OH in mouse plasma and brain homogenate are 34.1min and 1.03min, respectively[1]. As a dipeptide component of the dialysate, H‑His‑Tyr‑OH releases amino acids at a more gradual rate and reduces the peak amino acid levels in the blood in a rat peritoneal dialysis model[2]. H‑His‑Tyr‑OH also exhibits antioxidant activity against oxidative damage. H‑His‑Tyr‑OH (2–20mM; 6h) dose‑dependently protected against 200μM 4-hydroxy-trans-nonenal (HNE)‑induced senescence‑associated damage in keratinocytes, as evidenced by restored cellular morphology and improved cell viability[3].
