S-(1,2-Dicarboxyethyl) glutathione acetate (DCE-GS acetate) is a platelet aggregation inhibitor. S-(1,2-Dicarboxyethyl) glutathione acetate can be isolated from animal tissues and baker's yeast. S-(1,2-Dicarboxyethyl) glutathione acetate acts as an anticoagulant without chelating calcium ions [1].
In Vivo, S-(1,2-Dicarboxyethyl) glutathione (1600 mg/kg; intravenous administration; single dose) acetate shows no acute toxicity in mice[1].
In Vitro, S-(1,2-Dicarboxyethyl) glutathione (0-2.5 mM; 2 min) acetate potently inhibits secondary aggregation of human platelet-rich plasma induced by ADP, Thrombin, Collagen and Arachidonic acid [1].
