Adenosine-5'-O-(1-Thiotriphosphate)(ATP(αS))is an ATP analog, which is obtained by mixing ATP Rp and Sp isomers in a 1:1 ratio. ATP(αS) is a potent agonist of β-cell adenylyl cyclase, P2Y11 receptor, and rP2Y1 receptor[1]. ATP(αS) was identified as a P2Y2 and P2Y6 receptor-specific ligand that acts as a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system (CNS) [2].
