dADP disodium (2'-Deoxyadenosine 5'-di-phos-phate disodium) is a purine nucleotide diphosphate related to ADP and dATP[1]. dADP disodium can act as a substrate analog and inhibitor in polynucleotide phosphorylase reactions, including inhibition of Adenosine diphosphate(ADP) and Cytidine diphosphate(CDP) polymerization at 0.23mM in bacterial enzyme systems[1,2]. dADP disodium is used in research on nucleotide metabolism, polymerase and phosphorylase specificity, purinergic cell responses, and insect chemosensory feeding assays[1-5].
In vitro, human platelet-rich plasma exposed to dADP disodium (7μg/mL; single addition) showed platelet-aggregating activity. On a weight basis, its activity was approximately 0.3% of that of ADP, supporting its use as a deoxy-nucleotide probe in platelet-response research[3].
In vivo, adult female Culex pipiens and Culiseta inornata were tested in artificial feeding assays with dADP disodium (1mM; single artificial-diet exposure). dADP disodium produced a weaker phagostimulatory response than ADP[4].
