Exendin-4 -Cys is a cysteine-modified Exendin-4. Exendin‑4 (Exenatide) is an orally active, blood-brain barrier-permeable glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP‑1 receptor) agonist [1] [2] [3].
In Vitro, Exendin-4-Cys is a cysteine-modified Exendin-4. Exendin-4 (Exenatide) is an orally active, blood-brain barrier-penetrating glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist that resists dipeptidyl peptidase IV-mediated degradation. Exendin-4 can mediate multiple sugar regulatory effects, including stimulating glucose-dependent insulin secretion, inhibiting glucagon production, increasing β-cell numbers, delaying gastric emptying, reducing food intake, improving peripheral insulin sensitivity, and repairing normal pancreatic islet structure. Exendin-4 can inhibit oxidative stress, alleviate inflammatory responses, and reduce neuronal apoptosis[1][2][3].
