Description

Pincainide is a calcium channel inhibitor. Pincainide inhibits voltage-gated calcium channel-mediated calcium influx in smooth muscle. Pincainide inhibits norepinephrine- and high potassium-induced contractile responses. Pincainide can be used in the research of heart diseases [1].

In Vitro, Pincainide (0.5 mM; 5 min) significantly reduces Ca2+-induced contractile responses in K+-depolarized isolated rat aortic strips by inhibiting voltage-gated channel-mediated Ca2+ influx[1]. Pincainide (0.5-5 mM; 10 min) inhibits norepinephrine-stimulated 45Ca influx in isolated rat aortic strips in a dose-dependent manner, with an inhibition rate of 20.8% at 0.5 mM and 47.7% at 5 mM[1].
