DIF-3は、GSK-3βを活性化して分解を促進し、cyclin D1とc-Mycの発現レベルを低下させます。また、DIF-3はWnt/β-cateninシグナル伝達経路に関連するタンパク質を抑制します。cyclin D1の分解誘導およびcyclin D1 mRNAの発現抑制により、DIF-3は人間子宮頸がん細胞株HeLaで強力な増殖抑制作用を示します。
