Trypsin(bovine pancreas) (USP,1:2500;2500USPu/mg(BAEE 10000u/mg))は、リシンまたはアルギニンのカルボキシル末端ペプチド結合またはエステル結合を特異的に加水分解する^[2]。Trypsinの最適なpH範囲は8.0-8.8であり、カルシウムイオンはトリプシンの活性を安定化できる^[2]。温度が上昇する場合、トリプシンの疎水性部分は暴露され、不可逆的な凝集が起きる^[3]。トリプシンは付着細胞の剥離に使われ、よって培養フラスコの表面に付着した細胞で接着分子を消化する^[4]。トリプシンは活性アッセイと阻害剤のスクリーニングによく使われている^[5]。
