UP12 is an ATPase activity activator that activates the ATPase activity of valosin-containing protein (VCP), with an EC 50 of 1.24 μM. UP12 is applicable to research related to multisystem proteinopathies [1].
In Vitro, UP12 (0.240-5.00 μM; 1 h) increases the ATPase activity of recombinant wild-type human VCP by 39%; its potency is enhanced in the presence of UFD1/NPLOC4 cofactors, with the underlying mechanism involving an increase in catalytic turnover efficiency and a slight improvement in ATP affinity[1].
