Descripción (Description)

Citramalic acid is an organic acid and soil phosphorus-solubilizing agent. Citramalic acid can be secreted by beet roots, and low phosphorus conditions promote its secretion [1] [2].

In Vitro, Citramalic acid (1 mmol/L; 5 h) solubilizes soil phosphorus from Oxisol soil fertilized with calcium phosphate, increasing soluble phosphorus concentration by a factor of 6[1].
