EM127 (compuesto 11c) es un inhibidor covalente altamente selectivo, de alta afinidad y especificidad del sitio activo de SMYD3 (KD=13 μM). EM127 puede inhibir eficazmente la fosforilación de ERK1/2 y reducir la regulación transcripcional de los genes diana de SMYD3. EM127 también puede debilitar efectiva y prolongadamente la actividad de las metiltransferasas. EM127 se puede utilizar en investigaciones sobre cáncer, especialmente en tumores positivos para SMYD3.
