S4 es un inhibidor potente y selectivo de la anhidrasa carbÓnica IX/XII (CA IX/XII), con una Ki de 7 nM y 2 nM, respectivamente. S4 también inhibe CA II y CA I (Ki=546 y 5600 nM, respectivamente). S4 puede inhibir el nÚmero de metÁstasis pulmonares en el modelo de ratÓn ortotÓpico MDA-MB-231 sin afectar el crecimiento del tumor primario.

High affinity and selective CA IX and CA XII inhibitor (Ki values are 2, 7, 547 and 5600 nM for CA XII, IX, II and I, respectively). Inhibits migration and proliferation of breast cancer cells in vitro. Inhibits lung metastasis in mice bearing breast tumor xenografts, without affecting primary tumor.
