YIGSRC acetate is a laminin-mimetic peptide. YIGSRC acetate supports endothelial cell adhesion and tube formation. YIGSRC acetate contains a cysteine residue for chemical modification to hydrogels via thiol-ene reaction. YIGSRC acetate can be chemically modified onto hydrogels to improve in vitro vascularization [1].
In Vitro, YIGSRC peptide (1.25 mM; 24 h) acetate enhances spreading and tubular structure formation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells in non-porous hydrogels, increasing the HUVEC area relative to unmodified hydrogels[1]. YIGSRC peptide (1.25 mM; 24 h) acetate causes a minor, statistically significant increase in the area of human umbilical vein endothelial cells in microfiber network hydrogels, though the hydrogel's porous microstructure has a more dominant effect on cellular spreading[1].
