Potassium Hyaluronate from Cockscomb has excellent viscoelasticity, high moisture retention capacity, high biocompatibility, and hygroscopic properties, which acts as a lubricant, shock absorber, joint structure stabilizer, and water balance- and flow resistance-regulator [2]. Potassium Hyaluronate from Cockscomb can be used as a drug delivery carrier to safely alter pharmacokinetics and efficiently transport drugs throughout the body[3]. Potassium Hyaluronate from Cockscomb can be utilized to develop artificial tears for promoting the healing of corneal epithelial wounds in mechanical scratch models[4].
