Description of LDAO

LDAO(Lauryl Dimethylamine Oxide)는 막 단백질을 용해하고 안정시키기에 사용할 수 있는 비이온/양음이온 세제이다. LDAO의 온화한 세정 능력은 단백질의 원래 구조를 유지하면서 지질 이중층 구조를 효과적으로 파괴할 수 있다[2]. LDAO는 종종 세균이나 포유류의 세포막에서 경막 단백질 (G 단백질 결합 수용체 등)을 용해 하면서 기능적 활성을 유지하는데 자주 사용된다[3]. LDAO는 미토콘드리아막 구조를 용해함으로써 H⁺-ATPase의 활성을 간접적으로 영향을 미쳐서 ATP 수해리 과정을 조절할 수 있다[4]. LDAO를 구리 없는 클릭 화학 반응에 추가하면 CRM197 변이체의 연쇄상구균의 결합 효율이 현저하게 증가한다[5]. Rhodovulum sulfidophilum의 성장 매질에 LDAO를 추가하면 카로티노이드 생합성이 급격한 변화가 나타났다[6].
