Tetrahydrocortisol-d 5 is the deuterium labeled Tetrahydrocortisol. Tetrahydrocortisol is a metabolite of Hydrocortisone that fails to activate glucocorticoid receptor. Tetrahydrocortisol inhibits Dexamethasone -induced formation of cross-linked actin networks. Tetrahydrocortisol acts as a synergist to enhance the activity of anticancer agents. Tetrahydrocortisol can be used in the research of primary open-angle glaucoma, ocular hypertension, lung cancer and breast cancer [1] [2] [3].
In Vitro, Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs[1].
