Malantide는 phosphorylase kinase의 β-subunit에 있는 cAMP-dependent protein kinase(PKA)에 의해 인산화된 부위에서 유래한 합성 도데카펩티드이다. Malantide는 15μM의 Km을 갖는 PKA에 대한 고도로 특이적인 기질이며 다양한 쥐 조직 추출물에서 단백질 억제제(PKI) 억제 >90% 기질 인산화를 나타냅니다. Malantide는 Km이 16μM인 PKC의 효율적인 기질이기도 합니다.
