Desmethylxanthohumol is a chalcone-type compound isolated from hops with anticancer activity[1]. Desmethylxanthohumol can inhibit the formation of biological membranes, disrupt the structure of biological membranes, and inhibit the growth of various bacteria[2]. Desmethylxanthohumol has been widely used in the inhibition of prostate cancer cell proliferation and in pharmacological comparative analysis[3].
In vitro, Desmethylxanthohumol treatment for 48 hours significantly inhibited the viability of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs), with an IC50 value of 18.92µM[4].

Preparation Method | HUVECs were cultured in Dulbecco minimal Eagle's medium (DMEM) supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum at 37°C in a 5% CO2 incubator. HUVECs cells (100μl) were cultured in 96-well plates at a density of 5×103 cells per well for 24h. different concentrations of Desmethylxanthohumol (0.1, 1, 10, 50, and 100µM) were added to each well to culture for additional 48h. Then, the cell viability was analyzed. |
