Noradrenaline bitartrate is a β1-selective adrenergic receptor agonist with an EC50 value of 5.37μM [1]. Noradrenaline bitartrate enhances long-term memory consolidation in the amygdala and hippocampus through actions at α-1 and β adrenoceptors can enhance long-term memory consolidation in the amygdala and hippocampus through actions at α-1 and β adrenoceptors [2]. Noradrenaline bitartrate has been widely used to promote the contraction of mesenteric arteries[3].
In vitro, Noradrenaline bitartrate (1μM) treatment for 6 days protected rat dopaminergic neuronal cells from death and reduced intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels[4]. Treatment with Noradrenaline bitartrate (50μM) for 3 minutes significantly depolarized the membrane potential of pyramidal neurons in the medial prefrontal cortex[5]. 30μM of Noradrenaline bitartrate pretreatment for 24 hours significantly attenuated H2O2-induced cell death in SH-SY5Y cells[6]. Treatment with 1μM Noradrenaline bitartrate for 24 hours significantly reduced the release of IL-6 and TNF-alpha in microglial cells stimulated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS)[7].

Cell lines | SH-SY5Y cells |
Preparation Method | SH-SY5Y cells were incubated with DMEM medium supplemented with 10% fetal calf serum (FCS) in a humidified atmosphere at 37°C with 5% CO2. SH-SY5Y cells were plated at a density of 0.9×104/well in 96-well tissue culture plate for 24h and were incubated for 24h in fresh culture medium containing with different concentrations of Noradrenaline bitartrate (1, 3, 10, and 30μM). Then the culture medium was aspirated and replaced with fresh medium containing 500µM H2O2. The cell viability of SH-SY5Y cells was determined. |
Reaction Conditions | 1, 3, 10, and 30μM; 24h |
Applications | Noradrenaline bitartrate treatment significantly reduced H2O2-induced death of SH-SY5Y cells in a dose-dependent manner. |

| General tips | Please select the appropriate solvent to prepare the stock solution according to the
solubility of the product in different solvents; once the solution is prepared, please store it in
separate packages to avoid product failure caused by repeated freezing and thawing.Storage method
and period of the stock solution: When stored at -80°C, please use it within 6 months; when stored
at -20°C, please use it within 1 month. To increase solubility, heat the tube to 37°C and then oscillate in an ultrasonic bath for some time. |
