Z-GPR-MNA, a thrombin substrate which has been modeled after a thrombin cleavage site in human fibrinogen, can be used for a sensitive assay of antithrombin III activity. Z-GPR-MNA is also cleaved by cathepsin K and granzyme A and, according to Valchanov et al., a most efficient substrate for the demonstration of rat mast cell tryptase in histochemistry. Stock solutions of this substrate are best prepared in DMSO.
