Description of Z-Phe-Phe-Phe-OH

Z-Phe-Phe-Phe-OH es un tripéptido que puede actuar como inhibidor de la fusión de membranas, interactuando con la membrana celular o la envoltura viral, interfiriendo en el proceso de fusión de la bicapa lipídica, evitando así que el virus entre en la célula huésped o inhibiendo la fusión célula a célula [1, 2]. Z-Phe-Phe-Phe-OH está compuesto por tres residuos de fenilalanina (Phe) unidos en secuencia por enlaces peptídicos y tiene un grupo protector benzyloxiscarbonilo (Z-) en el extremo N-terminal. La fenilalanina es un aminoácido aromático con un anillo bencílico en su cadena lateral, lo que la hace altamente hidrofóbica y rígida [3]. La introducción del grupo protector benzyloxiscarbonilo proporciona estabilidad adicional al tripéptido, haciéndolo menos propenso a degradarse durante el experimento [4]. La fórmula molecular de este producto es C35H35N3O6 y el peso molecular es 593.68.
