RLX-33 es un antagonista efectivo, selectivo y con permeabilidad a la barrera hematoencefálica de la familia de péptidos relaxina 3 (RXFP3), que también bloquea la fosforilación de ERK1/2 inducida por relaxina 3, con IC50 para RXFP3, ERK1 y ERK2 de 2.36 μM, 7.82 μM y 13.86 μM respectivamente. RLX-33 puede bloquear el aumento en la ingesta alimentaria en ratas inducido por el agonista selectivo R3/I5 de RXFP3. RLX-33 se puede utilizar en investigaciones sobre síndrome metabólico.
