Myelin basic protein (MBP) peptide is a peptide substrate for PKC.1 It is selective for PKC over PKA, casein kinase 1 (CK1), CK2, phosphorylase kinase, and calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase (CaMKII). MBP peptide has been used to monitor PKC activity in primary human renal artery smooth muscle cells.2
