TRAP-5 amide, también conocida como SFLLR-amide, es un péptido agonista activado por proteasa 1 (PAR 1) [1]. PAR 1 es el receptor primario sensible a la trombina en las células humanas y juega un papel significativo en las respuestas a la lesión tisular y los procesos inflamatorios relacionados[2]. TRAP-5 amide imita la acción de la trombina y activa el receptor de trombina PAR 1 sin necesidad de proteólisis, lo que la hace útil para estudiar los mecanismo de activación PAR 1[3]. TRAP-5 amide es el péptido más pequeño que puede liberar serotonina de las plaquetas humanas y retener plena actividad, con la secuencia Ser-Phe-Leu-Leu-Arg-NH2[4].
In vitro, el tratamiento de células A549 con amida TRAP-5 amide (10 μM) durante 30 minutos en condiciones estáticas resultó en una redistribución de masa dunámica positiva (DMR) similar a la causada por una dosis saturante de trombina (10 unidades/ml), ay este efecto duró al menos 2 horas. Además, TRAP-5 amide y la trombina mostraron desensibilización cruzada mutua[3].
