Si una de forma muy específica y cruza sin problemas la barrera hematoencefálica, así que permite observar procesos inflamatorios en organismos vivos sin procedimeintos invasivos[2]. También sirve como sustancia de referencia para analizar derivados marcados con 18F-labeled, facilitando el diseño de protocolos de espectrometría de masas para identificar sus metabolitos[3].
