Sample solution is provided at 25 µL, 10mM.
Moclobemide-d4 is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of moclobemide by GC- or LC-MS. Moclobemide is a reversible inhibitor of monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A; Ki = 0.005 µM).1 It is selective for MAO-A over MAO-B (Ki = 1.08 µM). Chronic administration of moclobemide (15 mg/kg) decreases immobility in the forced swim test in rats.2 It increases time spent in the open arms of the elevated plus maze in rats, indicating anxiolytic-like activity, when administered chronically at a dose of 20 mg/kg.3 Formulations containing moclobemide have been used in the treatment of major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, and social anxiety.
