Fmoc-Tyr-Ala-diazomethylketone inhibited cathepsins B, L, and S with similar kinetics. Fmoc-YA-DMK was shown to react irreversibly with cathepsins B and L, but not with cathepsin S and was able to penetrate cells and to react with active enzymes within the cells.
