FA-Ala-Lys-OHはポリペプチド化合物であり、酵素の活性スクリーニングと薬物の研究に使われる[1]。FA-Ala-Lys-OHはよく酵素活性測定の基質として使われ、よって疎水性P'1アミノ酸残基に対するカルボキシペプチダーゼの選好速度論を調査する[1]。FA-Ala-Lys-OHはよく、アスペルギルス・ニガーで二種類のセリンカルボキシペプチダーゼ(CPD-IとCPD-II)を特徴づけるための基質として使われ、ArgとLysの特異性を調査した[2]。FA-Ala-Lys-OHは基質として使われ、ペニシリウム・ジャンシネラム由来のCarboxypeptidase S-1のエステル化反応を特徴づけ、エタノールを求核剤にし、特異性をテストした[3]。FA-Ala-Lys-OHは基質として使われ、麦芽カルボキシペプチダーゼIIの触媒加水分解反応速度のパラメータに対する、フェニルグアニジン水素炭酸塩とNaClの影響を調査する[4]。
