H-Arg-Arg-OHはペプチド結合で連結された二つのアルギニン分子で構成された塩基性ジペプチドである[1]。生理条件下で、H-Arg-Arg-OHは強い正電荷を帯び、優れた水溶性を持ち、特定の酵素切断部位を持つ[2]。H-Arg-Arg-OHは、トリプシンなどのセリンプロテアーゼの典型的な特定性の基質であり、酵素反応速度論の研究と酵素活性の分析に一般的に使われている。強い塩基性を持っているため、カチオン性ペプチドと生体膜の間の相互作用を研究するモデル分子となっている[2]。H-Arg-Arg-OHは、生化学の研究、酵素実験に適しており、ポリペプチド合成における中間体または参照基準に相応しい[3, 4]。
