Rats[1]Male and female F344 rats (50 days of age are individually housed in polycarbonate cages on hardwood bedding in rooms maintained at 24°C with 12 h light/dark cycles. All rats are given unlimited access to distilled water and NIH-07 open formula diet. Orally gavaged animals receive corn oil or distilled water 5 days/week at a volume of 5 mL/kg body wt/day[1]. |

옥수수 오일을 먹인 쥐는 MNCL 발생률이 약 25% 낮으며, MNCL 지연 시간이 길어지고 생존율이 증가합니다. 옥수수 오일을 먹인 쥐의 혈청 성장 호르몬(GH) 수치는 54% 낮으며, osmotic minipump 주입으로 GH를 대체한 경우에는 물로 섭취한 동물들과 비슷한 속도로 in situ MNCL 세포 분열이 일어납니다. 일주일에 5일 동안 체중당 5 mL의 옥수수 오일을 받은 쥐는 비섭취군 및 물만 마신 대조군과 비교하여 지방 섭취량이 3배나 많습니다[1]. 양성자 간암 종양(hepatoma) 7777 또는 7800 조직 주사 전후에 추적용량의 옥수수 오일을 복강 내 주사한 경우, 어른 수컷 버팔로 쥐 허벅지에 이 종양 모두의 성장 속도가 현저하게 감소합니다[2].
