Diolein은 글리세롤과 두 개의 올레산 분자가 에스터 결합으로 연결된 디아실글리세롤(DAG)의 일종이다. DAG는 다양한 세포 신호전달 경로에서 제2전달자로 기능하고 특히 단백질 킨아즈 C(PKC)를 활성화하는데 중요한 역할을 한다[1][2]. Diolein은 세포 생물학 연구에서 지질 신호전달[3], 효소 활성[4], 막 동역학[5]을 연구하는데 널리 사용되고 생체 내 유전자 전달을 위한 매우 유망한 비바이러스 벡터로 사용된다[6].
