C24 Ceramide (d18:1/24:0) is a natural ceramide (Cer) with a long acyl chain of 24 carbon units[1]. C24 Ceramide (d18:1/24:0) is a sphingomyelin (SM) that can be used to form lipid membranes[2]. C24 Ceramide (d18:1/24:0) can induce time-dependent changes in membrane properties and promote strong changes in vesicle shape[3]. The production of C24 Ceramide (d18:1/24:0) can promote spontaneous neutrophil apoptosis[4]. C24 Ceramide (d18:1/24:0) can be used as an internal standard in liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) to quantify ceramide from animal samples[5]. C24 Ceramide (d18:1/24:0) can be used as a potential biomarker to distinguish metabolically healthy obesity (MHO) from metabolically unhealthy obesity (MUO)[6].
