JMS-053 ist ein wirksamer, selektiver und reversibler PTP4A-Inhibitor. Es hemmt PTP4A1, PTP4A2, PTP4A3, CDC25B und DUSP3 mit IC50-Werten von 29,1 nM, 48,0 nM, 34,7 nM bzw. 92,6 nM und 207,6 nM. JMS-053 kann die Migration von Krebszellen und das Wachstum von Sphäroiden hemmen sowie das Wachstum von Eierstocktumoren im Körper reduzieren.
