Description Chemical Properties Product Documents

Secretin is a neuropeptide hormone that regulates secretion from the stomach, pancreas, and liver.1,2 It binds to the rat secretin receptor (SCT-R; Ki = 3.3 nM) and increases intracellular cAMP (EC50 = 1 nM) in COS cells expressing rat SCT-R.3 It also increases SCT-R phosphorylation 7.2-fold at a concentration of 0.1 μM. Secretin dose-dependently increases the volume of pancreatic secretion and inhibits gastric acid secretion induced by gastrin I in rats when administered at a dose of 100 pmol/kg per hour.4
